Bazillions of Bubbles

An Easy & Fun Bubble Activity For Kids

Bubble Magic on a Budget

When my boys were little, there was one thing guaranteed to keep them giggling for hours—bubbles. Big ones, little ones, ones that drifted up into the sunshine and popped on their noses. We could spend an entire afternoon outside with nothing more than some soap and a little imagination.

It in the bathtub. I’d put a bit of soap on a washcloth, hold it over their mouths, and say, ā€œBLOOOOW!ā€ Not only did they think it was hilarious, but it was also my sneaky way of getting their little mouths squeaky clean.

Fast forward to a boring morning when I tried making giant bubbles by dipping the cut-off end of a water bottle into bubble mix. ItĀ kind ofĀ worked… about 1 out of 10 times. Then the lightbulb moment hit.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • An empty plastic water bottle (cut the bottom off)
  • An old dishcloth (cut to fit over the open end)
  • Big rubber bands (the kind that come on broccoli work perfectly!)
  • Bubble liquid (or even liquid soap in a pinch)
  • A shallow dish or container

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Cut the bottom off your water bottle.
  2. Stretch the piece of dishcloth over the open end and secure it tightly with the rubber bands.
  3. Pour your bubble mix into a dish.
  4. Dip the cloth-covered end into the liquid.
  5. BLOOOOW!

The result? Streams of foamy, magical bubbles your kids will chase, pop, and laugh at until they’re worn out. It’s cheap, simple, and the kind of fun they’ll remember for years.

So, what’s your favorite way to make bubbles? Grab a bottle, a cloth, and get ready for giggles.

Keep bubbling up those happy moments,
Aimee 🫧✨
